Subrogation appears commonly in construction contracts, insurance contracts, suretyship and negotiable instrument law. Subrogation rights are regularly exercised by insurance companies, guarantors and bonding companies who achieve the right to step into the shoes of the party of whom they compensate and sue any party whom the compensated party could have sued.

Many of Martin & Seibert, L.C.'s subrogation cases derive from personal lines of insurance from the leading insurance carriers in the industry (see client list). Martin & Seibert, L.C. also handles many commercial claims from claims services corporations who are unable to use the arbitration forum for dispute resolution.

Subrogation cases are accepted for disputes throughout the entire state of West Virginia, the northern counties of Virginia, and the western counties of Maryland. Martin & Seibert, L.C. is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals.

SUBROGATION ASSOCIATION

Subrogation professionals now have a collective voice thanks to the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP). Based in Minneapolis, MN, the NASP draws its membership from both individuals and businesses throughout the United States.

Their mission is stated as: "Increasing collections on a cost-effective basis by retrieving, organizing and exchanging information, expanding the use of technology and raising the stature of subrogation and subrogation specialists within each of the Association's core constituencies."
